On the Mic

Mara Reinstein is a professional lecturer, teacher and frequent talk-show guest. (And yet, she still doesn’t enjoying talking on the phone. Go figure.) She often appears on international and national TV broadcasts, NPR, live radio shows — both terrestrial and satellite — as well as numerous podcasts to sound off on all things cinema and entertainment. Hear Mara every Monday night at 5 PM EST on SiriusXM Volume (Channel 106) for her hour-long reviews segment “Sound & Vision,” on the Debatable show co-hosted by Alan Light and Mark Goodman.

Mara teaches the popular blog writing and non-fiction creative writing courses year-round at the prestigious Gotham Writers Workshop in New York City and has done private writing seminars for Wal-Mart and the Durst organization.  Additionally, she does speaking engagements about The Reel History of Modern Women in Cinema at Brooklyn Brainery and for other women’s organization around the country.

Thanks to her quick-thinking interviewing skills, Mara also moderates Q&As (in-person and virtually) during awards season, hosts special screenings and leads Q&As at various film festivals, including The Tribeca Festival, SeriesFest in Denver, the Savannah Film Festival and the Detroit Free Press Film Festival.
